Our prices are competitive. They are generally based on the volume of text and usually range from £100 to £200 per thousand words (roughly, 3 sheets of A4) depending on:

• the 'source' and 'target' languages – some language combinations are more expensive than others
• the layout - we may need to adapt complex tables, charts, graphs and diagrams because text translated from English is usually longer or because of country-specific conventions (e.g. the layout of financial accounts)
• urgency e.g. if we need to do overnight or weekend work to meet your deadline
• legibility of the source text
• format of the source text (manuscript, .PDF, Word) or required output (Word, InDesign, HTML)
• repeated text – if many words and phrases are repeated we can reduce the costs
• subject matter
• references and background – if you can supply us with full background material (e.g. similar previous documents, background notes or terminology definitions) it will save the costs of research needed to produce the right translation for the context
• volume – we will quote even more competitively for large documents.

Interpreting

Rates vary from £60 to £150 an hour, or £300 to £1,000 a day, according to:

• the languages involved
• the subject matter
• the preparation required
• the notice given
• the type of interpreting (community or commercial, liaison, consecutive or simultaneous)
• the time for which the interpreter(s) are required.
